This chair was found at an estate sale and it was gorgeous but very dirty so I took home and started to try and clean it. I worked and worked on it but to no avail.

So I decided to paint it. The chair has raised embroidery on it so it was a nightmare to paint. I probably have about 7 coats of paint on it and then I had to deal with how hard and sharp it was. This chair was way way too much work but I think it is worth it. The beauty of paint on upholstery is you can just wipe it off with a damp cloth so pure white is possible for anyone, even people with kids and dirty paws of our 4 legged friends.

I hope this opens up your mind to new possibilities to some upholstery pieces.

enjoy painting.
