From springs to Mohair

This is the chair when it has been cleaned, primed, painted, and upholstered. A little different looking isn't it.

This is a perfect example of what a Before and After is all about. This is my life in a nutshell. I find the old, discarded and abused pieces that have good bones and I clean it, prime, paint, upholster and do whatever is needed to turn it into something beautiful again. This chair had beautiful bones and details that  will bring style into any room that it is in. This is the part of my life and business that is my favorite part.....finding and fixing and saving pieces that would have ended up in the dumpster. From the beginning of picking it up and until it is finished I am excited to see what it will look like when I have done all the repurposing to it. It is my little piece of "magic" in my world that I never seem to tire of.

what was done to this piece.

I cleaned the piece really well with TSP.  it is a degreaser used to get walls ready to paint or anything else and it works amazingly well.

I then prime it.

then paint it as many coats as I see fit

then I distress it and antique it

then I put an old mohair blanket on for it's seat cover

then it is ready for sale and I am happy to see how beautiful this little chair is with a little bit of love.
